BURCHETT VOTED AGAINST AAPI PEOPLE
Burchett loves justice… but not if you’re Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI). The Asian Hate Crimes Bill requires a designated officer or employee of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to facilitate the expedited review of hate crimes and reports of hate crimes. Tim Burchett was 1 in 4 TN GOP Reps to vote against this Bill.

BURCHETT USED HIS POWER TO PROFIT OFF OF COVID!
Two months before Representative Tim Burchett, R-TN, sat in a closed-door briefing on COVID-19 & then quietly sold all of his interests in the restaurant industry, he voted to PROHIBIT the very INSIDER TRADING he engaged in.
Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act
Burchett likes to kick women when they’re down… The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act would enhance legal tools to combat domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. This bill includes improving services for victims, safe homes for victims, and keeping children safe from family violence. Representative Burchett opposed this bill.
Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2021
Burchett does not think there is a firearms issue in America. The Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2021 increases the amount of time, from 3 business days to a minimum of 10 business days, that a federal firearms licensee must wait to receive a completed background check prior to transferring a firearm to an unlicensed person. Representative Burchett opposed this bill.
Affordable Housing for Vets Act
Burchett wants to help our veterans…until they need it. The Affordable Housing for Vets Act expands eligibility for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Veterans Affairs-Supported Housing (VASH) rental voucher assistance to homeless veterans honorably discharged or released from active military, naval, or air service regardless of the length of service. Representative Burchett opposed this bill.
No Cost for COVID–19 Testing Act
Burchett wants you to pay for COVID testing. The No-Cost for COVID–19 Testing Act requires private health insurance plans to cover testing for COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019) without imposing cost-sharing for the duration of the public health emergency declared on January 31, 2020. This includes the cost of administering such approved tests and visits to health care providers for testing. Representative Burchett opposed this bill.

In 2012, an investigation into campaign finance irregularities involving Burchett’s Knox Co. mayoral campaign fund began. A full audit & investigation was ordered on this 3rd offense revealing that almost $20,000 in campaign money had been misappropriated. State Board of Ethics decided to take no action against Burchett due to multiple corrective measures that were added before the meeting.
In February 2018, the KNS reported that Burchett had failed to report a $10,000 payment from a solar electric company to him on his campaign forms. The FBI questioned people regarding Burchett committing income tax evasion. Burchett said it was an ERROR. The Tennessee Registry of Election Finance investigated the matter, an inquiry that could have resulted in tens of thousands of dollars of fines. But it ultimately took no action after the mayor filed 11 amended financial disclosures and submitted an affidavit sating his wife had used the money on clothes, shoes, spa visits, and other personal expenses. Board member L. Murray agreed, noting that Burchett did amend some of the forms but in doing so, did not adjust the balances, which then inadvertently added more errors in his accounting.
